How To Rise Strong From Challenges
“You’re stronger than you seem,
braver than you believe,
and smarter than you think you are.”
– WINNIE THE POO
In the past few months, life has definitely thrown curve balls our way. There is no way to put into words how crippling it is to carry a load of uncertainty, stress and worries. The challenges we’ve had to face have essentially changed our lives.
It hurts to be in a situation you have no control of and sometimes with decisions that seem completely unfair to us. Covid-19 was ruthless. The brutality to people’s lives because of their race and skin color. Financial ruin, relationships suffering and loss of loved ones. It is hard! I get it!
Regardless of these tough issues, we can’t give up on our own well-being. It’s important to get back up and push forward. In this post I will share with you 5 tips that I’ve tried in my own life to help me get past tough situations.
- Accept your emotions – It’s okay to feel fear, sad or angry when faced with a challenge. Bottling them up will lead to more harm than good.
- Figure out a plan – you don’t want to have the rest of your life overwhelmed by your circumstances. There’s definitely a way out. Find ways to help you overcome the challenges you’re facing.
- You’re not alone – Someone else has been there, or is ready to offer you a hand or shoulder to cry on. Don’t be afraid to reach out and ask for help, and accept when offered.
- Gratitude – Sometimes we tend to focus only on the negative things. Taking time to appreciate even the little stuff, can help you experience more positive emotions and feel more alive. The benefits are endless.
- Self-Care matters – De-stress by taking time to pamper your body, mind and soul every single day. Our daily lives are crazy busy with work, family and technology that we barely have time for ourselves. Refuel your own energy by engaging in self-care activities of your choice.
Note: In no way am I minimizing the challenges people get to face everyday, but my wish and hope is to help someone lift themselves up from the valleys and be able to rise strong.
