How To Get Yourself Out Of A Rut
“Stop settling for ‘good enough’, you deserve what’s best.” – Robin Sharma
Are you feeling lost or wondering what you should be doing to get yourself out of a daily rut?
Have you found yourself living the same day over and over, month after month?
You may have settled in a nice little nook, The Comfort Zone – a safe place with no risks, familiar routine and less stress. But it can also be where dreams die, with nothing to push you to growth and motivation to a more fulfilled life.
People are so caught up in settling for what’s familiar and mostly just a mediocre life. I’m not saying we can all be up there, inventing wheels and toasters, being filthy rich or revolutionising the world but we can live our lives to the best of our abilities when we just step out and explore a little bit more.
Fear is the number 1 culprit that holds us back usually coming with excuses and limiting beliefs. Your thoughts shape your beliefs that determine your actions. If you feed your thoughts with countless excuses; “I don’t have time”, or “I can’t afford it” or “I just wasn’t born with that gene”, you are basically fighting for your limitations.
In this post post I will share with you ideas on how to up-level your life out of mediocrity;
- Change your mindset – our thoughts create our reality. To retrain your mind to focus on the positive will require mental stamina and discipline. Find useful tools that work for you examples such as motivational videos or affirmations, etc.
- Try something new – Are you looking to learn a new skill? Or to start a new training program for your career or personal life? Do any 30 day challenge? Maybe create a bucket list…
- Believe in yourself – whatever happens outside your comfort zone will send chills down your spine, but instead of fear holding you back embrace the what will I learn or gain from this experience.
- Slow and steady steps will help you not to feel overwhelmed and push you right back to the usual routine. Break down your goal into smaller steps and focus on one at a time.
- Be honest with your excuses – The biggest roadblock to achieving any goals in life is the excuses we feed to ourselves. They allow us to avoid taking responsibility for our actions.
Remember, like Jim Kwik said, “If you fight for your limitations, you get to keep them.”
What would you like to change in your life? What can you do right now to help you reach your goal?
Thinking about these changes is the first step, next write them down in your journal or notes on your mirror where you can see them everyday. This will allow you to focus and take a step forward to your designer life.
As always…..
