10 Ways To Empower Yourself To A Designer Life
As most people, we are motivated to live a life we are proud of. We’re almost at the halfway point of 2020 and a lot of goals and dreams were made at the beginning of the year. Some may have been derailed by this pandemic we are facing or just lost focus for whatever reason. But it’s never too late to start over and recommit to a positive change.
Every change begins with a simple small step. Once you become aware of what needs to change, find ways for inspiration and take action.
To help you stay committed, in the post I will be sharing with you ideas you can adopt for your designer lifestyle moving forward.
- Be conscious of your diet – Each meal is a building block in your healthy eating style. Eat smart by incorporating more food sourced from the earth and less heavily processed, refined sugars and meat.
- Move your body – Optimise your health by incorporating some form of exercise every single day. Start walking/ jogging/ running, yoga or follow YouTube videos for different types of exercises if you’re not able to go to the gym.
- Practice daily gratitude – Taking time to appreciate what you have will help you not to focus on the negative, worries and struggles.
- Practice mindfulness – Meditation, prayer or breathing exercise to ease stress and anxiety to help you manage your mind.
- Design a morning routine – Feel your best by waking up to positive energy and a motivated day ahead instead of feeling dread and stressed out. Build your own routine that evolves to set the tone of your day.
- Spend time in nature/ outdoors – We generally tend to spend a lot of time indoors for work, school and living. Dedicate some time to connect with Mother Earth by spending time out in a park, forest or gardening. Enjoy the benefits of leaving the concrete jungle once in a while.
- Commit to life-long learning – Find books, podcasts and other inspirational material to learn from for fun, personal and professional growth.
- Re-evaluate your relationships – We need to have human connection. Are you spending quality time with your loved ones? Connecting with people you care about? Letting go of toxic and negative relationships?
- De-clutter your mind – Free yourself from mental clutter which makes us restless and unfocused. To clean up your mental space find ways that work for you: journal, let go of past mistakes and learn from them, ask for help, prioritize what needs to be done and meditate.
- Digital detoxification – Limit your consumption of contents on the internet, social media and news especially those that suck your energy.
Remember you can’t control what happens in the world, but you have total control how you live your life that you can be proud of.
