LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE

YES – Be Selfish!

“Sometimes in life, you have to make a selfish decision and do what’s best for you.”
Saquon Barkley

Being selfish is bad. That’s the norm we’ve been raised with. But it’s wrong. We need to be selfish with our time. Instead of pleasing everyone and constantly being a ‘Yes’ person, we need to find ways to live for ourselves.

Allow me to redefine your new acceptable Selfishness.

Every day is a gift – one where we have total control of 24 hours. Still many of us complain that we don’t have enough time. Here are a few ways to stop sabotaging your own happiness, sanity and success:

  1. Be your own biggest cheerleader as you pursue your goals and dreams. It’s OK to be inflexible with that time block. You’re most likely not going to reschedule a job interview, so give this the same priority.
  2. Take care of yourself. Your emotional, mental and physical health should always rate higher than anything else.
  3. It’s OK to say NO without giving a reason. Don’t sacrifice your time to help someone out. You might already be exhausted or you just need timeout. Offer to help next time when you can and are free.
  4. Don’t feel guilty. If taking care of yourself is high priority, those around you will do the same. Re-energize to become the best version of yourself for you and your loved ones.

Finally, if you plan on living your designer life, the key is to get very selfish with your time. It’s your time, after all. Cherish it, once it’s gone we can never get it back.

As always…
